The Germans

The Fire Fish is a hybridized African Cichlid derived from the Aulonocara species. In other words, a man-made fish; who better to do this, but the Germans! Our Aulonocara sp. Fire fish were rescently imported from Germany. Our colony consists of 24 young adults, mainly females.

There are many different variations and degrees that these fish have been line bred, but Germany has been able to take it one step further... RED! Through the fire fish species, it has been assumed that since these fish are a hybrid, that each and everyone turns out different and unique in it's own way, whether that be minor differences in scale patterns, to colour. Some males we have are a royal golden orange, and then others are true red, yet all the same strain.
